Mining Media International, the company that publishes Engineering & Mining Journal (E&MJ) and Coal Age, purchased the Haulage & Loading conference from SEMCO Publishing in June 2017 and immediately began to make improvements. Held every two years, Haulage & Loading is the conference for surface mining professionals. The event, which brings mine operators and suppliers together in an informal Arizona resort setting, focuses on improving surface mining operations in general and truck-shovel loading in particular. The technical program offers continuing education for mining engineers and mine managers.

Mining Media International is a niche media outlet that serves professionals in the mining engineering and mineral processing sectors worldwide. MMI publishes Engineering & Mining Journal (E&MJ), Coal Age and Equipo Minero. E&MJ is the gold standard among mining-related trade journals. Coal Age is the voice of authority in the coalfields. Equipo Minero provides technical information on mining and mineral processing in a neutral Spanish tongue. MMI also produces the Longwall USA trade show and the Haulage & Loading conference.
